We’re all used to the typical brewery tap takeovers. One craft brewery comes in and dominates the tap handles.
How’s this for a concept: seven handles of Oktoberfest and seven handles of pumpkin beers from fourteen different breweries. I call that creative.
Plan B in Glastonbury will be holding such an event this Thursday when they tap season offerings from a number of high end craft breweries, including Dogfish Head’s Punkin and Southern Tier’s Pumking. In fact, I’d say the tap list covers a pretty good spectrum of beers. The only noticeable absence for me is Weyerbacher’s Imperial Pumpkin, which I consider the best of the style.
On the October side of the spectrum, my highlight there would be the BBC Oktoberfest. It’s a beast of a fall seasonal and more complex than your typical Marzen style beer.
Below this text you will find the complete tap list. To note: I was told last night that the Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin has already been replaced by the Cisco Pumple Drumkin. So don’t go looking for Smashed Pumpkin on Thursday.
As you can see, the day’s earlier tap handles will be changed over to the seasonal tap handles at around 6 p.m. If you can make it, enjoy it!
